La Presidencia española del Consejo de la Unión Europea, que ha tenido lugar entre el 1 de julio y el 31 de diciembre de 2023, ha supuesto la consecución de una serie de logros significativos en materia de legislación de servicios financieros. Entre ellos se destaca la aprobación del Reglamento de pagos instantáneos, la finalización técnica de la revisión de la normativa prudencial bancaria y de la normativa básica de los mercados de capitales, o los avances en materia de prevención del blanqueo de capitales. Además, la Presidencia española ha podido sentar las bases de expedientes legislativos novedosos que tienen una importancia estratégica para las finanzas de la Unión, tales como el marco de gestión de crisis bancarias y garantía de depósitos o el euro digital. |

The Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which ran from 1 July to 31 December 2023, has led to a series of significant achievements in the area of financial services legislation. These include the approval of the Regulation on instant payments, the technical completion of the review of prudential banking regulations and the basic regulations on capital markets, and the progress made in the framework of anti-money laundering. Furthermore, the Spanish Presidency has been able to lay the foundations for new legislative dossiers of strategic importance for the Union’s finances, such as the bank crisis management and deposit insurance framework or the digital euro. |
