Resumen.
Setting an excise tax is an important government decision because it affects government revenue. Understanding excise taxes on fuel products by E.U. member states, in conjunction with the examination of their effectiveness, strengths, and weaknesses, and the evaluation of their impact on citizens’ quality of life and government revenue, are explored in this article. Our survey, which was carried out in Greece, examined the impact of excise taxes on fuel products and their effect on the quality of citizens’ lives. The survey results are presented by region, mapped using a geographic information system (GIS) to provide a comprehensive picture of the impact of excise taxes on fuel products.
