520			_aThis paper simulates the response of the Spanish labour supply to income tax changes using estimates for the intertemporal elasticity of substitution of leisure, calculated using a pseudo-panel built combining information from the EPA and the ECPF, for the period 1987-1997. According to our findings, income tax reforms have an impact on Spanish labour market, although the effects are quite small, making this mechanism a restricted tool for addressing the country’s existing social security system deficit. Further, labour responses differ for men and women, across workers’ age, as well as between permanent and fixed-term contract workers.
520			_aEste artículo mide (a través de simulaciones) la respuesta de la oferta laboral española a cambios en el impuesto sobre la renta utilizando estimaciones de la elasticidad intertemporal de sustitución del ocio, calculada mediante un pseudo-panel construido combinando información de la EPA y la ECPF, para el período 1987-1997. De acuerdo con nuestros resultados, las reformas del impuesto sobre la renta tienen un impacto en el mercado laboral español, aunque los efectos son bastante discretos, lo que convierte este mecanismo en una herramienta restringida para abordar el déficit del sistema de seguridad social existente en España. Además, las respuestas laborales difieren para hombres y mujeres, según la edad de los trabajadores, así como para los trabajadores con contratos permanentes y de duración determinada.
